A dog is for life not just christmas

Whilst I would usually try and showcase others work on folksy, today I want to appeal directly to the people who read my blog. The christmas season is one of the busiest times for animal rescues, also in the current financial climate they are even more stretched. So I ask, even if you don't want to buy anything from my store which all profits go to the animal rescue I got my beloved Peaches from, find time to make a donation no matter how big or small to a animal rescue near you.

Today I have listed one of my alltime favourite pieces, a stunning red heart brooch,

Loooong day,

I didnt manage to list anything today, so for my folkfest I put a big up for one of my favourite items.

I went to jewellery class tonight, I don't always like the pieces I make but I love being able to talk to others with the same passion as me. It's also nice to be able to get design idea's from others. Tonight was wire wrapping ring's which I was happy to do as I have done so much seed beading recently I was worried my wire skill's were getting rusty.
Anyway here is my picks from today's Folkfest.
Another great destash!
A very soft and warm looking scarf, which is great to haave when your cold.
A very pretty notepad, a good present for a musical friend.
Another rose item, I can't help it I love roses.
I really like this necklace, I think the colours match superbly with the antique brass.

Folkfest picks and a special mention!!

Good day on the whole today, after over sleeping I made it to my slimming world class in roughly 10 minutes. I lost another 1lb!!!
Please take special note of the poppy brooch, it is helping raise money for a very special cause.
Here is my listing for todays folkfest and a few of my favourites.
If like my mother you prefer a hand written address book, I recommend this one. Very pretty!
I am very fond of white and gold, If I had pierced ears I would consider buying these.
I really love roses and these are lovely!
This supplies shop is full of wonderful resin pendants like these.
A very bright and cheerful birthday card. Just the thing in this gloomy weather.

A special mention goes to this lovely poppy brooch, all proceeds go to the royal british legion.

Online magazine

I have been involved for some time with a online mag for crafters
i say involved but its more i have written a couple of articles. Anyway i am not much of a writer but i do enjoy seeing myself in print, well who wouldnt :D

Summer bright

I've been working on a set of celini spirals necklaces for a while now, this one is my newest. I have had the frosted yellow beads for a while and its taken me ages to find some I liked that went together. I hope I have done them justice. The good thing is I have half a bag of them left so I now have to find something else to do with them.

Success with the camera!!

I took my camera to class with my last night and got some tips from a lovely lady called Beth. She's taking a photography course and gave me advice on my picture taking.
I finally feel confident that I can get the best shots possible if i have the right light.
so here is some listings of my work INCLUDING a new crochet wire necklace.

Selling for Charity

As you may or may not know, I took up jewellery making in the hope I could raise money for the animal rescue who gave me my beloved dog Peaches. Many Tears are a small rescue in south wales.
So I decided to blog about others who work for charity's.

Hennie and Claire have a shop called pink sun flower
this donates to either cancer or epilepsy research.

Hennis also has this shop
which donates to a fund in memory of her son.

its nice to know that people are putting their talents to a good use.

Promised pictures

Here is the promised picture of my RAW bracelet. It is made with swarovski citrine crystals and green myuki seed beads.
I am going to post it up on my Folksy shop along with a few other makes from me.

I am sat here avidly watching the news, I won't go into political beliefs here but I do wish they would get a move on. The economy is obviously affecting myself and my other crafters but in my sense it means lack of sales = lack of donation ot Many Tears.

You are always on my mind.....

I am attempting to lose weight and as per usual all I can think of is chocolate!

So to take my mind off, I am going to attempt a new russian spiral necklace. It could go horribly horribly wrong....

Subject close to my heart

I'm going to post this in a few places because it means so much to me.
This afternoon a cat was knocked down in the road by me, long story short it was rushed to the vets and has been put down. Now this cat had no collar on so we had no means of identifying it. We thought it was out next door neighbours and we got hold of them and they rushed home. It turns out it isnt there cat. So alot of heartache was caused because the cat didnt have so much as a collar on.

What shocked me was when i asked the people who helped get the cat to the vets and even my neighbour NON OF THEM have their animals chipped. Now god forbid anything happened to Peaches while i wasnt about i at least know that she is chipped. It's such a little thing but can save so much heartache.

I have made my mark!!

just got back in from voting. typical me i noticed the back of my card had a typo on it. caused a bit of a stir. anyway i'm going to sit here for a few mins drink my orange juice and decide what i am going to do with the rest of my day.

I have finally gotten round to finishing off my RAW bracelet i started weeks ago in class. i am planning on getting some pictures of it today and if they turn out alright i will post it on Folksy later.

don't worry i will link pictures in here as well :D

Caged Beads

I just took some shots of the caged beads, i have been wanting for ages to learn how to make them and i am REALLY chuffed with myself.

A beginning?

I've decided to try and keep both of my blogs updated, the one on Busymitts i think i will mainly use for showing off projects. This one will be more of a record of what i have learned.

The favourite of my new techniques i have learned recently is how to make caged beads.... i've just had a thought let me go find my camera!
